San Elizario Walking Tour

This page serves as an aid, as you walk through this self-guided tour of the historic town of San Elizario.

1. Los Portales Museum

We begin our tour at Casa Garcia, now known as Los Portales Museum.

Fun fact the church has been rebuilt about three times.

Rumors have it that treasure is hidden on the property.

The Old County Jail was the first in the area. Billy the Kid also visited the small jail.

Our tour ends at our local Veterans Museum. The museum is named after a local soldier who was declared MIA but whose body was later recovered.
